I know it sounds weird. But it's warm and flavorful and makes a winter morning especially wonderful.
Ingredients:
Grapefruit
Honey or maple syrup
Thyme or cinnamon
Preparation:
Preheat oven to 375. Cut grapefruit in half. Drizzle with honey and sprinkle with thyme; or drizzle with maple syrup and sprinkle with cinnamon.
Cook & Serve:
Place on a baking sheet and bake for 15 minutes.
A Little Backstory:
During the week, I'm not much of a breakfast eater. But I love a lazy weekend breakfast -- simple, but with special touches. This baked grapefruit is a perfect example. Not difficult, but it kicks the meal up a notch. Just for yourself. Don't wait until you have someone over to make the good stuff. And don't wait for a guest to use those fancy champagne flutes or your grandma's fine china. But if you do have guests over, you can bake a sheetful of this grapefruit at a time.
