Hangover Egg on Toast

A proven amount of grease to settle the stomach, the morning after that happy hour that lasted more than an hour. Also good as an everyday breakfast.

Ingredients:

1 egg

Butter

2 strips bacon

1 Tablespoon red onions

1 slice Jarlsberg cheese

1 slice of bread (I used gluten-free)

Fresh thyme

Preparation:

- Toast your bread. As soon as you remove the hot toast from toaster, cover with the slice of cheese to melt.

- Cook your bacon or use pre-cooked bacon, warmed up (especially if your head JUST CAN'T TAKE THE SOUND OF THE SIZZLING).

Cook & Serve:

Melt a pat of butter in a small frying pan over medium-high heat. Fry your egg on one side. Before you flip the egg and fry to golden brown, break the yolk. Trust me. You don't want dribbly, runny yolk or gooey egg whites the morning after. Assemble: Put your bacon on the cheese. Next the egg. Top with onions. Sprinkle with fresh thyme because you are hungover, not a heathen.

A Little Backstory:

I had a college friend that swore a fast-food egg sandwich was the best hangover cure ever. Two problems with that: They're never gluten-free, and who wants to get up and drive to a fast-food joint when you're hungover? I made a better alternative.
